What you need to know

The Almoner Training workshop has been designed to suit all Almoners, whether they are greatly experienced or newly appointed and is structured to address the Almoner’s overall responsibilities, highlighting the needs and means of being appropriately proactive and covers many other important aspects.

The Workshop is interactive with questions addressed as they arise and includes a group exercise with the focus on ‘What constitutes a good Almoners Report’. The workshop includes an introduction to an effective yet simple record keeping and administration system including:

  • The overall role of an Almoner
  • Initiating and maintaining contact
  • Spotting possible signs of distress
  • Working with brethren, widows and dependants
  • Practical visiting and support methods
  • Almoner reports for your Lodge or Chapter meeting
  • The Visiting Brother Service
  • Freemasonry Cares, our Charities and Masonic Grants

Delegates are provided with copies of the PowerPoint presentation, example record keeping and support documentation, as well as being presented with the Metropolitan Grand Almoner's distinctive script purse lapel badge and a Certificate of Achievement.

Attending this Workshop is an enjoyable and highly constructive experience.

Workshops are proving very popular and we recommend you book your place as soon as possible.

Please note that the buffet is taken when we have a break in the middle of the workshop, hence the workshop does not finish until approx. 19.15 hrs.
