Pirate of the Carabina Workshops FAQs

What if I can’t pay the full amount?

We try to price all of our workshops so that they do not exclude anyone. There is a discount for non-profits and an early bird rate. We do have to cover costs; however, if you feel you are worthy of a helping hand, please do email us: katherine@piratesofthecarabina.com

Do I need my own insurance?

No! The teachers have their own individual insurance through Equity and Pirates of the Carabina have company insurance. However, you will need to sign a disclaimer on the day (which is standard industry practice).

Will I need special clothing?

-You will need lightweight shoes with grippy soles that you can feel the rigging in, plimsoles, trainers etc. are ideal.

-Stretchy close fitting clothes, IE. -leggings, tracksuit etc. and please keep your torso covered to protect your skin. Basically something that you can easily move around in and that aren’t too baggy so that they don’t get caught in the rigging.

-For Rope and Hoop work it is worth have two layers covering your legs, i.e footless tights under tracksuit bottoms and bare feet.

Is there an upper age limit?

No! As long as you do not have any medical conditions that would exclude you from these activities, you are welcome to sign up.

I am pregnant, can I still do the general workshops?

As with all circus skills, there is a risk factor, plus some aerial work involves wearing harnesses and hanging by your hips and around your tummy. Please contact us for a chat before booking: Shaena Brandel (+44) 07771998181

Are Master Classes suitable for children?

No! Due the nature of training and the intensity, these workshops are only suitable for those over the age of 16 years. This is non negotiable.

The general workshops say 7 about, is there any leeway?

No! For insurance purposes and to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the workshops, the minimum age is 7. You can apply for your child now, as long as they are 7 by the date of the workshop. This is non negotiable.
