Seydisfjordur is just about as dramatic a place to start our adventure as anywhere with Snow covered mountains, brightly coloured houses and cascading waterfalls form the backdrop as the first few days will be spent getting to know the boat and the crew, and some local sailing around this dramatic coastline, we will then be heading out to cross the Norwegian sea looking out for whales and sea birds as we get into life offshore for the next 4 to 6 days, it’s a great feeling seeing landfall after time at sea.

Iceland Flag  IceandImage

Iceland can be best described as a land of ice and fire; of light and darkness with days in the summer that last for 24hours at a time, contrasting with long winter nights where daylight only lasts for a few fleeting hours per day. Situated in the North Atlantic Iceland is the western most country in Europe and the world’s northernmost capital city and lies almost equidistant between the northwest of Scotland and Norway.

Despite its location, Iceland enjoys a cool, clement climate; refreshing summers and fairly mild winters all thanks to the Gulf Stream.

Norwegian Flag  NorwayImage

Land of inspirational landscapes, sheer beauty, cosmopolitan cities, grand architecture, breath-taking deep blue fjords and sublime vistas all are on offer in abundance in Norway.

Norway enjoys favourable weather due to the influence of the Gulf Stream means that the weather is milder than expected for a country which is as far north as Siberia and Alaska. The most striking phenomenon has to be the Midnight Sun when the sun never sets during the peak of summer as for those living in Arctic Norway the sun never falls below the horizon. Discover yourself on our Iceland to Norway adventure.
