BODØ - TROMSØ  Difficulty rating Difficulty rating

Land of inspirational landscapes, sheer beauty, cosmopolitan cities, grand architecture, breath-taking deep blue fjords and sublime vistas all are on offer in abundance in Norway. Norway enjoys favourable weather due to the influence of the Gulf Stream means that the weather is milder than expected for a country which is as far north as Siberia and Alaska. The most striking phenomenon has to be the Midnight Sun when the sun never sets during the peak of summer as for those living in Arctic Norway the sun never falls below the horizon. Discover yourself on our Iceland to Norway adventure.

On our voyage of discovery we sail from Bodø to Tromsø anchoring at many of the Islands which make up the Lofoten archipelago, this journey is all about Island hopping and enjoying the stunning scenery.

Norwegian Flag  BodøBodo

The town of Bodø is the gateway to Norway’s true north and is located at the northernmost tip of the Kystriksveien Coastal Route in the Arctic Circle. The towns’ railway station marks the end of the line for trains and is the stop-off point for the Lofoten Islands archipelago. Bodø is the largest urban city in Nordland country and the second largest in North Norway. Blessed with an "oceanic climate" so it enjoys cool summers and cool, yet not cold winters. Bodø experiences some of the strongest tidal currents in the world.

Norwegian Flag  TromsøTromso

Arguably offering one of the best vantage points above the Arctic Circle for viewing the famous and spectacular phenomenon of the aurora borealis, or northern lights, which are a result of the collision between solar wind particles and air molecules in the earth's atmosphere, and then transferring their energy into light? The city also has a distinctive skyline and architecture with its quirky wooden houses, many centuries old and the Arctic Cathedral which was built in 1965, resplendent with its peaked roof and lofty stained-glass windows, the cathedral dominates all buildings around it. Tromso being situated on the Gulf Stream experiences erratic snow fall patterns which varies from year to year depending on the actions of the Gulf Stream.
