Welcome:

Sail the harbours and bays of the Solent, experiencing the perfect mix of party, adventure, culture, and relaxation with Venture Sailing.

These sailing days will appeal to both sailors and newcomers alike. You provide the human power and teamwork to sail the yacht to the next destination.

You will join the yacht and meet the skipper/instructor and the other crew. You will be shown around the boat, and, after a safety briefing will set sail.

You will be involved ‘hands-on’ from the beginning and might even find yourself helming the boat down the Solent.

This will be a short trip of about two-three hours to a mooring or anchorage in the Solent and a well-earned lunch ether around the saloon table or ashore at a local pub.

All Venture Sailing skippers are chosen for their experience, patience and understanding. They will show you how to do everything from the beginning so that you are able to participate right from the start.

Although you will be working and exercising as part of a crew you will be given individual guidance and instruction. As each hour passes you will acquire new skills and grow in confidence.

The atmosphere aboard is relaxed and the emphasis is on having fun – exactly what sailing is supposed to be.

Sample Itinerary:

9.30am – meet at the yacht in East Cowes for tea, coffee & warm pastries

10.00am – set sail for the day. your skipper will be happy to teach you all the basics of sailing a yacht or let you relax in the sun

1.00pm – drop anchor in one of the many bays around the Solent for a spot of lunch & plenty of time for a swim off the back of the yacht

2.00pm – set sail for more sailing fun around the Solent – maybe around the Forts or up Beaulieu River

4.30pm – aim to be back on the Island – with a camera full of photos & a head full of memories

There are no pre-requisites for this day sail, and no previous sailing experience is required.
