What you need to know

On July 30th 2017, Tamworth based children's charity, Simon's Heroes, is holding a 5K/10K trail run in Hopwas Woods, a beautiful ancient woodland situated in the district of Lichfield in Staffordshire. It offers a mixture of natural single tracks, dirt tracks and some short steep descents, perfect terrain for this type of event and takes in some wonderful scenery. Tamworth Ukulele Group will also be playing live in the woodland to help keep participant's spirits high! Live music and refreshments will be available in the main event area for participant's children / supporters to enjoy during the race.

> Trophies for the first male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K event
> NEW FOR 2017: CHIP TIMING
> Race medal and goody bag for all runners

Simon's Heroes is a local charity which aims to improve the quality of life and make a positive difference to local children in need.  The charity raises money through sponsored events including obstacle runs, fun days and galas that help them to provide resource and opportunities that are not always available through the NHS and other funding routes, but go a long way towards helping children with life limiting illnesses lead more independent and fulfilling lives. This event will help to generate much needed funds for and awareness about the group, as well as providing some muddy fun on natural trails.

The event is dedicated to Karen Abbott, a very inspirational lady and dearly loved member of the charity, who sadly passed away in March 2016. Karen made a huge contribution to Simon's Heroes, having participated in countless races, raising funds and offering her support when needed.
