What you need to know

SKINC nursery is excited to be hosting this new workshop! Come explore a natural dyeing method using plants from our Melbourne environment, harvested mindfully, to imbue paper with colour and patterns. This is a practical ritual in which participants will learn how to sustainably harvest plant materials, identify appropriate species, prepare a mordant and then make a print!Participants will take home thier creations which can be displayed as an artwork, developed into a sculpture or even a book! During the session there will be a focus on imparting intentions, meaning and memories into the artworks. This process can be used (with an additional step) to dye fabric, which will also be discussed.
Faciltator:Lucian is a Melbourne based artist interested in the experiences of creation and connection. How we express, expore and find ourselves in moments of play and art making. Using natural materials they construct ephemeral works that tell their story and emotional journey, and then let them eventually return to the earth.
