An overnight bushcraft experience where you will sleep under a tarp, cook on the campfire, produce useful items, learn new skills and connect with the woodland. Meeting at 11am on Saturday we will provide you with some equipment before we walk the ten minutes into the wood to the campsite. After a quick introduction to the camp and your packed lunch we will introduce you to the tools which you will be using and guide you through the first activity. Once this is complete we will set up our shelters for the night and then have the first fire making workshop. We will need to build a fire to cook our evening meal over, and then we shall explore the wood before settling down around the campfire for the evening.

In the morning we will cook breakfast and then be straight into the second fire workshops, as well as considering how we can source safe drinking water. There will be time available to practise any skills or finish any carving projects you have started. Once we have had lunch we will strike camp and return to civilization at about 2pm Sunday.

Cost: £75 per adult / £50 per child (under 18 years)(1 free child place with every two adults who book- second child costs just £25).

Booking: booking is essential. Please email stay@babymooncamp.com or call 01434 689488. Upon booking you will receive a Participant Information Sheet- this needs to be returned in advance of the programme. You will also receive a Participant Equipment List.

Equipment: all specialist equipment and tools will be provided; you will need to bring a sleeping bag and roll mat.

Catering: you will be provided with three meals (evening meal, breakfast and lunch). You will need to supply a packed lunch for the Saturday (this allows us to move quickly into the activities). The meals are hearty but simple. Where possible we will cater for a specific dietary requirements/allergies- however, you may wish to provide your own food to cook. Tea and coffee are available throughout.

Restrictions and safety: under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons no alcohol is permitted during activities (this is also a restriction of our insurers!) Compass reserve the right to remove any person from a course should there be a safety issue. There is a minimum of four participants required for the course to proceed.

Health and fitness: there is not a great deal of exertions during this course; however, you will need to be fit and healthy enough to live within a woodland, including carrying your own equipment in and out.

Toileting: there will be a private open air composting toilet available at the campsite.

If this date is not suitable for you, or you would like to come as part of your own group please get in touch to book.
