What is it? The Pilates method is an exercise system which focuses on improving core strength, flexibility and balance. It uses a series of controlled and systematic movements coupled with focused breathing to engage both the body and the mind. It is ideal for anyone wanting to correct bad postural habits, overcome back problems, improve athletic performance, or simply increase their general levels of fitness and wellbeing. Pilates can be practised by students of all abilities and benefits everyone.
Pilates is for everyone, whatever your age, body shape or fitness.
When? Classes run every Wednesday’s from 1pm to 1.45
Where: Classes and take place at 1 Stratford Place.
How Much? Classes are to be booked in blocks and will cost a flat fee of £10 per block and classes will need to be booked in blocks, therefore if you attend only two sessions this would cost you £5 per class which is still great value, however all 6 sessions (one block) will only cost you £1.70 per class which is a bargain.
Do I need to bring anything: please feel free to bring a mat, but not essential.
What should I wear? It is recommended wearing clothing that is comfortable for you to work out in. Try to avoid over-sized attire that would make it difficult for the instructor to observe and correct your form during the class and Pilates is traditionally practised barefoot.
