Bruce Fummey takes on the world of Shakespeare
Tuesday, 21st November 2017
at 8:30pm
– Doors open at 7:00pm
Monkey Barrel Comedy
Bruce's Fummey's comic observations probe deep into medieval Scotland. Shakespeare shamefully misrepresented a man who, in his time, was a popular Scottish king. His death, at the hands of Malcolm, led to Anglicisation of Scotland... and eventually "the English play". 'His research is deep, his timing is split second. His ad lib ability is amazing.' (Daily Record). 'Thank God, and Braveheart, for Bruce Fummey' (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk). 'An hour in the company of a delightful Scot... Take your brain to see him, he'll put stuff in it, and you'll feel the better for it.' (Chortle.co.uk).
Note, this is a comedic performance - and very comedic it is too. Bruce Fummey, perhaps the greatest of all Scotland's Celtic/Caribbean comedians (must admit, there are not many) will take you on a hootingly funny look at the hero of The Scottish Play. Be warned. There might be a bit of swearing and drinking. But no nudity....
