Autism Sleepover

1 night

Day 1

 

1:00    Arrival for Lunch

Welcome and Health & Safety Talk

A selection of sandwich fillings will be available for visitors to make their own sandwiches. This will be accompanied by e.g. a flapjack and fruit.

 

After leaving your bags in your room we will head outdoors for our first farm adventure.

 

2:15    Activity.

            An outdoor activity will be chosen by Magdalen staff that meets the needs of the group and the quirks of the weather!

For example:

River raft building & racing, plus river dipping

Orienteering

Den building in the woods         

 

4:30    Pig feeding

            We will take the pigs their food and in the summer check on their wallows.

 

5:15    Free Time

            Time to spend as you wish: unpacking, making your bed or just chilling.

 

6:00    Supper (Magdalen staff to depart)

Supper will be a wholesome, tasty two-course meal. Some food will have come from the farm, and we try to use as much local, free-range and organic food as possible.

 

7:00    Activity

An evening activity will be chosen by Magdalen staff that meets the preferences of the group, weather and level of light!

For example:

Campfire

            Night orienteering

            Night walk

            Junk band

8:00    Magdalen staff leave

            After having shown parents how to lock up etc staff will leave.

            Colouring will be left out as will a projector for an age-appropriate film.

           

 

Day 2

8:30    Breakfast

Breakfast consists of a variety of cereals, juice and toast, and there will be cooked course of 2 elements e.g. eggs and beans. Visitors are encouraged to eat a hearty breakfast.

 

9:30    Farm animal feeding

The group will assist with any animal related jobs that need doing on the farm. This might include letting out the chickens, collecting their eggs, feeding the pigs and checking on the goats.

 

10:30  Activity

After a quick morning break we will have an afternoon activity chosen by Magdalen staff.

For example:

Magdalen Farm Olympics

            Farm jobs

            Team building

            Nature’s art and craft

 

12:00  Lunch

As per yesterday.

 

12:30 Feedback and closing of group.

 

12:45  Departure

 

Snacks and drinks are provided in the morning and afternoon between activities or during breaks.
