SWAP Study Skills Day for Nursing Students

 The aim of this event is to allow SWAP students to get a better idea of what degree level study is like and a realistic understanding of the skills and attributes you will need in order to gain entry to and succeed at university. It’s also a chance for you to speak and ask questions to SWAP staff, university admissions and academic staff and chat with former SWAP students who are now at university.

The day’s event will include the following sessions:

 ·         Skills and expectations for degree level study

·         The importance of numeracy for nursing

·         Practical skills session in the Clinical Skills teaching area

·         Effective note-taking

·         Sample 1st year university lecture

·         A panel session with former SWAP students – to answer questions and give their insight of university life and the transition from college to university
