Have you always wanted to try Gaelic singing? If so, why not come and learn a few songs in with Mòd Gold Medalist, Joy Dunlop. No previous experience of Gaelic or singing necessary - just a have a go attitude! Participants will receive paper copies of all material covered but feel free to take a small recording device/dictaphone along with you.

Crowned Traditional Singer of the Year & Traditional Dance Champion at the 2015 Pan Celtic Festival, Joy Dunlop is a multi-prize winning Gaelic singer and Scottish step-dancer.

Her singing career is the result of a life–long fascination with Scotland’s traditional music and has led her all over the world; from major Celtic festivals to touring the UK, Europe, Japan, Canada and New Zealand. Nominated as Gaelic Singer of the Year 2016, 2011 & 2010, Joy has also won both the coveted Royal National Mòd Gold Medal and the Oban Times Gold Medal.

Through her singing, she showcases Gaelic music and song in a contemporary way that always remains true to its roots.

Information

Creebridge House Hotel is where a lot of the festival activity takes place with the Festival Marquee venue in the garden and the Festival Office in the main reception.  It is also the venue for the Festival Late Club tune and song sessions as well as tune and song sessions usually all day from Friday to Monday during the festival weekend!

There is parking on site, with road entrance adjacent to the petrol station on the B7079, or you can park in Newton Stewart and simply walk across the Cree Bridge taking a left straight after the bridge and then a wee short cut to the hotel just along Milcroft Road.
