About Centre for Applied Developmental Psychology (CADP)

Here in Clinical and Health Psychology, we host the Centre for Applied Developmental Psychology (CADP). CADP is a group of clinical psychologists, academic psychologists, and researchers interested in the application of theories and models of developmental psychology in a variety of applied settings. The overarching aspiration of our group is to enhance children and young people’s well being as well as their recovery in the face of mental health problems. This underpins our core research activities, teaching, and knowledge exchange in collaboration with partners in the NHS, voluntary organisations, education, and social services. As well as monthly CADP meetings, we host a free seminar series with external and internal speakers.

More information on CADP can be found on our webpage here: https://www.ed.ac.uk/health/research/cadp

CADP Postgraduate Researcher Group (CADP-PGR)

Alongside the main group, there has traditionally also been a subgroup for PGR students to meet independently of staff. In recent years, the CADP-PGR group has been successful in applying for grants, hosting events, sharing research skills, and developing an online presence - to name a few activities! It is a great source of support, opportunity, and experience for any PGR student and one that demonstrates a broader commitment to research.
