What you need to know

Audience

Each academy will have a nominated Data Protection Lead (DPL), and the training session is specifically designed for DPLs.  The purpose of the DPL role is to share best practice with staff on data management, help support and answer questions on GDPR within the academy, work with OAT Head Office to complete GDPR information requests and auditing.

 

Purpose

The training session will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of GDPR
  • Transparent data management
  • How to handle suspected or actual data breaches
  • Data audit, mapping and sharing with third parties
  • ICT Security
  • Role of OAT Head Office
  • Role of DPL
  • Dealing with information requests, rights to be forgotten, FOI

 

Outcome

The outcome of the training session is to help DPL’s better understand their role, offer information that can be shared with academy staff, to embed a supported data management culture and explain how to work with Head Office to manage information requests and manage academy data using processes that are compliant.
