StrongBox 2018

for signing your box to StrongBox 2018
The
competition is designed to crown the STRONGEST box in the UK & Europe. Max
lifts will be tested in our mixed team competition based on a body weight
formula using Sinclair for Olympic Lifts and the Wilks formula for the
powerlifts. Some other typical CrossFit team strength tests will be tested in
the semi final and the final.

PARKING:
There
will be plenty of parking around the industrial estate. Please do not park on
double yellow lines. There will be a parking attendant directing you where to
go.
FOOD & DRINK:
There
will be a coffee tent selling cakes and snacks as well as Muscle Food Pots‘o’Gold
(rice pots with chicken and veg) sold at £3.50 a pot. Battle Oats and protein
bars will also be on sale. We have card machine on site for card transactions
but we recommend bringing cash for the coffee tent.
There is a Tesco Express approx. 5-7 min walk way with a cash point on site and
a small precinct of shops with Waitrose and other amenities 5 minute drive away.
SPECTATOR TICKETS:
There
will be a small fee of £5 per adult to spectate payable on the door when you
arrive.

Team Registration & Weigh In*
During team weigh in, you will need to assign the
athletes scoring for each discipline so make sure you have decided this before
weigh in. Remember, each athlete can only score in a maximum of 2 disciplines
(e.g. squat, snatch).

(This is a rough
guideline and this is subject to change – a detailed timetable will be
given to you on the day)
RULES:
·
Your team
will produce 3 scores in each of the following disciplines. One of which
have to be a FEMALE score.
Max Clean & Jerk
Max Snatch
Max Deadlift
Max Bench
Max Back Squat
· Each participant can only score in a maximum of 2
disciplines - this is to encourage a larger participation from your box but
also to crown the STRONGEST BOX not the strongest individuals e.g. if you
choose Becky to score in the Deadlift and Snatch, she cannot score in any of
the other disciplines.
·
The strongest
8 teams with the biggest accumulative scores in the disciplines above will make
it through to the semi final where different tests of strength
will be
tested (to be released on the day) and then a final cut to 4 will be made once
again for the final event of the day.
·
All lifts and
tests will be under CrossFit standards, so press outs will be allowed and no
pauses or holding positions are necessary. A full movement brief will be held
on the day.
·
Each of your
participants has to be a paying member at your box and must train at your box.
No super teams or drafting members from partner programming allowed.
· Spotters
will be provided on Squat and Bench stations for your safety.
WORKOUT FLOW:
·
Each
team will have 20 mins in total on their assigned workout station. 10 mins will
be allowed to warm up on the assigned station then the timer will start with 10
minutes to go.
·
Teams
can pre-load their starting weight ready to start at the 10-minute timer and
can have as many attempts at the lift as they like between the 3 lifters.
Lifters must declare the weight on the bar before lifting it and the other
lifters in that sub-team can help load the bar.
·
There will be a 15kg bar and a 20kg bar on each
Olympic Lifting station and only 1 x 20kg bar for Squat, Deadlift and Bench.
·
Weight
increments be 25kg / 20kg / 15kg / 10kg / 5kg / 2.5kg / 1.25kg with a maximum
of 260kg on each station.

October)
·
There
will be approx. 25 mins between each discipline and no teams will be going from
discipline to discipline back to back.
SCORING:
·
3 scores
per discipline. Of which, at least 1 will need to be a female score. You can
have 3 females if you like! The totals will be worked out based on a body
weight formula and then a team accumulative score will place you 1-18 in that
discipline.
·
Teams with
the fewest points based on placings - will win. Scores and points wont be wiped
clean so it’s best to work hard at all events.
