Magdalen Farm, Chard, United Kingdom
Looking to find a way to meet new people and to help care for the environment? Our new Saturday volunteer working parties could be just the thing for you!
We are looking for volunteers to help tackle practical and conservation related tasks around our beautiful 132 acre organic farm. Come and help us control our Himalayan balsam, an invasive plant that spreads along watercourses, shading out native flora and damaging riverbanks through erosion. Controlling it couldn't be easier - just bash it down and trample it into the ground! Come and lend a hand, and in return we will supply all the necessary equipment, hot drinks and a light vegetarian lunch. The day will be led by our Ranger.
Suitable for accompanied children over the age of ten. Please dress suitably for outdoors practical work. We can supply wellies if you need them, as we may be working near the river.
Booking essential - to confirm your place, or find out more information, please email julia@magdalenfarm.org.uk
