Two Ways to Make Psychological Therapies Better
Lecture Outline
Psychological and behavioural interventions can have a substantial positive impact on a range of human problems. They are also typically well tolerated and highly acceptable to patients. But, there are significant challenges in delivering psychological treatments with fidelity, at scale, to the people who need them. This lecture will approach the challenge of improving psychological therapies by addressing two main questions: How can we build an effective workforce? And, How can we target psychological treatments more precisely? Studies to be discussed will range from a global mental health perspective through to RCTs for psychosis.
