Come and meet other FSyIs, listen to a VIP speaker from CPNI and enjoy excellent networking. This event is for FSyIs ONLY to encourage friendship and challenging debate. It is a way to help shape activity in the Institute by sharing your ideas in a closed forum.

After a business update from SyI and CPNI a delicious 3-course meal will be served in a private dining room in a fantastic location overlooking the Thames and looking across to St. Pauls Cathedral. Of course there will be a welcome drink to kick things off, and a glass or two of wine or bottled beer with the meal.

Information

Located next door to Tate Modern and by the River Thames, Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe is easily accessible via public transport, taxi or on foot.

By foot:
With views of St. Paul’s Cathedral, a popular route is to walk across the Thames River via the Millennium Footbridge. Swan is a few steps east of the footbridge on the south side of the Thames River. Swan is to the east of Tate Modern, if you follow the riverside path by the Thames, or a few steps west of the Southwark Bridge. Following the Thames Path, Swan is 8 to 10 minutes’ walk from both London Bridge and Blackfriars stations.

London Underground:
There are several options if you are travelling to Swan by tube.
London Bridge on the Northern and Jubilee Lines (7 minute walk)
St Paul’s on the Central Line (10 minute walk)
Blackfriars or Mansion House on the District and Circle Lines (both 10 minute walk)
Southwark on the Jubilee Line (12 minute walk)

Trains:
Swan is close to four major railway stations.
Blackfriars (10 minute walk east along the Thames River)
London Bridge (10 minute walk west along the River Thames)
Cannon Street (15 minute walk via the Millennium Bridge)
Waterloo (20 to 25 minutes’ walk – or 7 to 10 minutes via taxi)

By bicycle:
There are bicycle racks on Bankside and New Globe Walk, within a few steps of Swan.
There is also a Transport for London Santander Cycle Hire docking point on New Globe Walk.

Buses:
The following bus routes can take you to within 10 minutes of Swan:
45, 63, 100 to Blackfriars Bridge
15, 17 to Cannon Street
11, 15, 17, 23, 26, 76 to Mansion House
381 , RV1 to Southwark Street
344 to Southwark Bridge Road

By boat:
Bankside Pier is located directly in front of Shakespeare’s Globe and boats on this route also stop at the London Eye, Embankment, Greenwich and several other sights.

Thames Clipper boat service accepts Oyster cards and runs from Putney to Greenwich. Thames Clippers depart every 20 minutes from around 6am to 11pm. A timetable can be found here: Thames Clippers timetable

By car:
If you are considering driving into London, the nearest car park is Baynard House Car Park at Queen Victoria Street, London, EC4V 4BQ, which is open 24 hours. Information on prices/tariffs is available at Baynard House Car Park – From the car park, walk across the Millennium Bridge and you will see Shakespeare’s Globe to your left.

Limited parking for blue disabled badge holders is available on New Globe Walk and the surrounding area. A map can be found here: Southwark Disabled Parking
