What you need to know

A great day of music and fun! Why not join us on Friday 31st Aug too?

Midstock Festival

Why Midstock?

At the heart of Midstock festival there’s local music, local food and local fun; what more could you want on a balmy September day? Kicking off Dalkeith’s week-long celebration of Midlothian arts and culture that is Midfest, Midstock invites families, music-lovers and party animals alike to Dalkeith Country Park to enjoy the late-summer sunshine with us.

With bars serving Scottish ales and more local food stalls than you can shake a stick at, the family fun day and headline acts are not the only things to get excited about. Midstock’s eclectic mix of daytime fun, big name rock bands and the best of upcoming Scottish talent offer something for everyone, and our late act will guarantee you’re partying until dark. Grab your dancing shoes (and maybe your wellies) and experience Scotland’s biggest small festival!

Location

Dalkeith Country Park
Dalkeith, Midlothian, EH22 2NA United Kingdom

By Car

We suggest parking your car at the Sheriffhall Park & Ride, which is conveniently located on old Dalkeith Road.

If you’re using a SatNav, simply enter its postcode: EH22 1FF. If you’re something of a maverick, make your way to the city bypass (A720) and you’ll find the Park & Ride at the Sheriffhall roundabout.

Alternatively, you may park in Dalkith city centre

By Bus

If you’re coming from the city centre, Lothian Bus services 3, 33 and 49 will take you to Dalkeith Town Centre. Jump off at South Street and walk 5 minutes up the High Street to Dalkeith Country Park. If you’re coming from Portobello or Musselburgh take the 40, while festival-goers from Bonnyrigg can catch the 39; both buses will take you to the Corn Exchange bus stop on Dalkeith High Street. Coming from further afield? The Perryman’s 51/52 service covers Edinburgh to Jedburgh/Kelso. For all you late-night party animals, the N3 will see you safely back to Edinburgh City Centre until 4.30am.

By Train

The new Borders’ Railway is the perfect to get to Dalkeith Country Park without any fuss. There are regular trains from Edinburgh City Centre and the Borders to Dalkeith’s Eskbank Station, located on Westfield Park.

It’s a 25-minute walk from the station to Dalkeith Country Park following Bonnyrigg Road, or you can jump on a number 40 Lothian Bus from outside the Tesco superstore opposite the station - you’ll need to get off at the Corn Exchange bus stop on Dalkeith High Street. Alternatively, Shawfair Station will be newly opened and is a 30-minute walk from the Dalkeith Country Park King’s Gate.
