For staff members with lived LGBT+ experience to consider what it means to be themselves in the University, and reflect on the ways they could be an LGBT+ role model
Places limited to 6 participants.
The sessions are linked, and include:
Session 1 Wednesday 14 November 1330 – 1630
Session 2 Wednesday 28th November 1330 – 1630

The sessions are facilitated by Steve Yorkstone, and content is based, with permission, on the Stonewall Scotland Role Model programme, see: http://www.stonewallscotland.org.uk/get-involved/get-involved-ind-and-comm/stonewall-scotland-lgbt-role-models-programme.
One Stonewall proposed working definition of a positive and inclusive role model is:
“A role model is aware of their potential to influence others and intentionally exercises that influence for the purpose of helping to create a more inclusive workplace.”

This event is kindly being hosted free of charge by The Botanic Cottage in the Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh.
The gardens ask that those attending the Cottage during office hours make their way there via the East or West gate entrances as per the map here:

If there are any weather problems that close the garden, such as high winds, we will contact you and visitors will be diverted by staff at the entrances round to the gate behind the Cottage and met by a staff member there.
