This privacy notice explains how The University of Glasgow will process your personal data in relation to the GoAbroad Fair registration.

Your Personal Data

The University of Glasgow will be what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. In this instance we are processing some basic personal data (such as name, Student ID, University email address).

Why we need it

The University of Glasgow has a long established and diverse Go Abroad Placement programme which offers International Study Exchanges, European Study Exchanges and Work Placements within Europe. Your registration details help us plan the content of the event and send relevant information to you about the event.

We will only collect data that we need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

Legal basis for processing your data

We must have a legal basis for processing your personal data. In this instance, we require your consent to process the data you provide at the registration.

What the Study abroad and Exchange team do with your data

Your data and consent will then be stored locally within Student and Academic Services IT system. 

·       We will us your information to provide information about the GoAbroad fair and ask for your feedback after the event. Your data will not be passed on to 3rd parties, nor used for any other purpose.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe that the information we process relating to you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and have it restricted, corrected or erased. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact dp@gla.ac.uk.

If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.
