Join the Equality and Diversity Unit and Stonewall Scotland for a 'Lunch and Learn' session to explore how to be an effective ally for your LGBT colleagues, students and the wider university community.

Allies are incredibly important to helping achieve LGBT equality and for ensuring the University of Glasgow is fully inclusive so everyone can be themselves, without exception. This session will look at the lived experiences of LGBT people in Scotland today and help you identify some practical ways you can demonstrate your support for LGBT equality in your individual roles, as well as your team, your School / Research Institute / Service, and the wider University.

At the end of the session you will be asked to sign a LGBT Ally Pledge designed by the LGBT+ Network, you will then receive a University of Glasgow Rainbow Pin Badge to identify you as an LGBT Ally

A light sandwich buffet lunch will be provided.

Please note: Numbers are restricted by the venue, so to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate it would be appreciated if you only book a space if you are able to attend.

Stonewall Scotland supports organisations to improve their policies, procedures and training to be fully inclusive of all lesbian, gay, bi and trans identities, as well as lending support to LGBT networks and Allies initiatives. We work with a variety of Higher Education Institutions across Scotland, as well as colleges, local authorities, government bodies and other public, private and third sector organisations.
