What you need to know

What's Included

Ride from Bristol

Quite simply, this route is stunning. The day begins with 10 miles of relaxed riding on the Bristol & Bath Railway path. After a morning filled with pretty South Gloucestershire villages, we climb high up into the Cotswold Hills. The views west into South Wales are magnificent on a clear day!  Medieval Minchinhampton is a real gem and, if we can find enough energy in the legs, we'll climb up to see Ozleworth and lovely Kingscote. The plan is to reach Stroud around 1pm just in time to meet our Stroud group and to enjoy a picnic lunch.

From Stroud, we climb back into the Cotswold Hills and 'traverse' a charming lane cut into the hillside. Keeping away from main roads, we'll meander through Jack's Green and Sheepscombe before taking a well-deserved snack break around Prinknash Abbey Park.

Our next stop is Gloucester where we'll congregate at famous Gloucester Cathedral. The final few miles of our route follow the National Cycle Route between Gloucester and Cheltenham. We aim to arrive at Wychwood by 5.30pm for (no doubt) a well-deserved celebratory beer!

Please note we'll be picking up riders at Stroud and Gloucester, so there'll be plenty of opportunities to take a breather, stretch your legs and take in the sights.
