MVLS Public Engagement Gathering - Activity Workshop

Tuesday 30 April 2019 from 2 – 3.30 pm

This event will provide an opportunity to review a number of MVLS activities developed for the Glasgow Science Festival and other public engagement events. Hosted by the MVLS Engagement Team  and with support from PE professionals including the Glasgow Science Festival Team, you will get a chance to "be the audience", to review and feed back on the activities. Expect a a mixture of presentations, review exercises and discussions about what helps to create a quality engagement.

Our objectives will be to:

• Allow participants to try out MVLS public engagement with research activities
• Engage participants in a critical assessment of these activities discussing:

• Key Messages
• Target audiences
• Level of engagement
• Quality of resources / materials
• Branding

• Offer constructive feedback to activity managers.

• Explore some of the practicalities associated with creating and staging engagement activities
  

• Risk assessments
• Volunteer roles and rotas
• Insurance and public liability
• University resources and support including printing, banners & bunting

• Have an open discussion    

                Ask your own activity questions of the PE professionals

MVLS Researchers, staff and post graduate students currently involved in public engagement or those who wish to learn more.
