What you need to know

The Festival is an annual event held in the courtyard of Exeter Castle and the surrounding Northernhay Gardens, right in the centre of Exeter over the early May Bank Holiday weekend. This year we kick off with the Exeter Beats opening night in Exeter Castle from 6.30pm on Friday 3 May.

Exeter Beats Music Festival: 3, 4 and 5 May 2019
From 6.30pm. Enjoy live bands and world class DJs, whilst enjoying a drink from the Festival Bar, and delicious street food from the host of stalls serving food and drink.  Book an Exeter Beats or a combined ticket to stay late into the night!  

Food Festival - from Saturday 4 to Monday 6 May 2019. 
From 10am.   Learn from local chefs in the Festival Cookery Theatre, buy from local producers in the 3 Large Food Pavilions selling a mouth watering array of food and drink. Join in the fun with demos, tastings and educational sessions in the Darts Farm Food is Fun Teepees with demonstrations and hands on activites for children.  Plus top live music throughout the day with quality Street Food stalls to savour and the Festival Bars to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
New for 2019 - FREE admission for under 16s on Monday

Important Information 

  • Music will feature in Exeter Castle throughout the day.
  • Day tickets do not include the Exeter Beats evening gig
  • Combined Tickets include the daytime festival and Exeter Beats evening gig on the same day
  • Exeter Beats – Saturday and Sunday tickets include entry to the Food festival from 4pm (non transferable)
  • All prices include UK VAT
  • Tickets are per person and are non transferable
  • Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult
  • No Dogs except Guide Dogs

Northernhay Gardens - access via Northernhay Place or Queens Street, adjacent to Central Station.
Exeter Castle - access via Castle Street

The Festival by day is in both Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle with most features inside large marquees - so don't let any bad weather put you off!


Day tickets do not include entry to the evening Exeter Beats Music Festival.
The features in Northernhay Gardens close at 6pm.
The evening Exeter Beats Music Festivals are in Exeter Castle only. 
Exeter Beats Music Festival tickets allow access to Northernhay Gardens from 4-6pm on same day

Step Free Access
Please note that the site has a number of steep slopes and some features have kerbed access onto grass areas.  


There are 3 steps connecting the Northernhay Gardens and Exeter Castle sites. For step free access between the sites, visitors need to exit the site and walk via Bailey Street.  Please ask Gate staff for details on arrival. 
 

Arriving by Train? Alight at Exeter Central station - then a 1 minute walk to the Northernhay Gardens site with step free access.

 

Park and Ride
If driving to the City, please make use of the Park and Ride service. NB this does not operate on Sunday.

Car Parking.
As this is a city centre venue, there is no access to the venue for motor vehicles nor any parking on site.

We recommed the following car parks.  Please check for closure times:
