LTT has secured 3 days of training for SLEs (cross-phase) directly from NCETM.  The training will be delivered by Margaret Young of NCETM and Sarah Charlton (Primary Teaching for Mastery Lead, East Midlands East Maths Hub).

This opportunity is free of charge to SLEs.

This programme aims to support mathematics SLEs in developing their approaches to mathematics school improvement work including drawing on the expertise of, and aligning more with approaches used in, the Maths Hubs Programme

This training aims to provide:

  • Skills in driving the improvement in mathematics, including developing the capacity of school leadership of mathematics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and barriers to school improvement in mathematics and how to tackle them.
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective teaching of mathematics including teaching for mastery.

Each of the days has 3 sessions with each session developed around, and exploring, one of the aims. There may be small ‘gap tasks’ that participants will be asked to do between the days as information from these will be used during sessions in the next day. Each day builds on the previous days so it is important that each participant attends all three days.
