Fantastic opportunity to learn guitar with superb Scottish guitarist Ron Jappy.

A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire (formally the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama), Ron Jappy has always had a passion for performing and teaching music. From a young age, he made the best of the opportunities given to him, and has been influenced by a broad range of fantastic musicians and teachers. During his time spent in Glasgow, Ron has had a number of experiences presented to him through the rich and vibrant music scene, and is subsequently sought after as an accomplished guitarist, fiddler and pianist.
Ron has years of experience in tutoring individuals and groups through a number of different organisations. He is currently a guitar tutor for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland through their Musicworks programme, teaching Scottish Traditional Music to children of all ages, as well as being involved with the Youth Music Initiative programme in Edinburgh.
He is an associate musician for Drake Music Scotland allowing him to do project work throughout the country, and he has also done a number of teaching workshops through Live Music Now Scotland. Previously the resident fiddle tutor at the North Ayrshire Fiddle Workshop, teaching children’s and adult classes Ron has also taught guitar, fiddle and group work for Fèisean nan Gàidheal.

The McMillan Hall is located at Dashwood Square right in the centre of Newton Stewart. In can be easily accessed by car or on foot with parking available across the road at the Newton Stewart Initiative Community Shop.
