A chance to improve your Tin Whistle skills with highly experienced teacher Claire Mann. The workshop will cover all aspects of the Tin Whistle technique taking a close look at ornamentation and phrasing within traditional tunes. Aimed at improving beginner and above.
Claire is stalwart of the traditional music scene having established herself as one of the leading exponents of Irish flute, fiddle and Tin Whistle in the country.
Aside from her performance credentials, Claire is highly sought after as a traditional music tutor. She was the flute and tin whistle tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow for 10 years and is currently a regular tutor at Newcastle University.
She also works for Fèis Rois, offering an introduction to traditional music in primary schools throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

The Vault Arts Centre is located on Victoria Street in the former Royal Bank of Scotland building in the centre of Newton Stewart, between Avocet and Boots Chemists.
Parking is available at the Riverside Car Park on Riverside Road, just a short walk away. We would encourage all attendees to park in the car park as opposed to Victoria Street to ensure that congestion is kept to a minimum.
