Train Heald Green
This celebration of movement, inversions and strength is suitable for those wishing to build confidence, strength and technique in their Crossfit, Yoga and training journey.
There will be focus on gymnastics fundamentals using the equipment and facilities at Train Heald Green - an amazing state of the art functional fitness centre in South Manchester.
There will be a full group body and joint warm up followed by some dynamic movement exercises and then a 10-15 min full body stretch and mobility session to prepare the body.
We will then split up in to groups and work on basic gymnastic positions - front and back support, hollow, tuck, straddle and arch positions using the floor, rings and bars- all exercises will be scaled according to your level.
As I'm a handstand maniac we will then spend some time learning or refining our handstands. For those more advanced there will be an opportunity to work on pressing/lifting to handstands and working on different entries in to handstands and headstands.
This will be followed by an introduction on how to use weights and other equipment to enhance and improve your strength and active flexibility and for those Crossfitters and calisthenics heads an opportunity to refine your Handstand push ups - away from the wall.
We will all do a group conditioning workout, a deep stretch and a nice relaxation at the end.
There will be regular breaks and some food and snacks will be provided - including nuts and banana bread and if it's a nice day you can stay for a BBQ afterwards.
This event is ideal for yogis wanting to get stronger and Crossfitters wanting to improve technique ,mobility and flexibility. And to have fun!
