PENSHURST FESTIVAL 2019

Friday 4th to Sunday 6th October

BOOKS, MUSIC, COMEDY, AND SO MUCH MORE

Grand opening in the historic Baron's Hall of Penshurst Place; followed by two days of events in Penshurst Church, Village Hall and the Leicester Arms

Welcome to the Penshurst Festival. We are planning a wonderful weekend of events, talks, music, food and poetry and hope that it will become an annual event on the first weekend in October.

This year’s theme will be Crossing Boundaries, featuring writers and musicians who have crossed physical and artistic boundaries in their work.

Our authors include Daisy Goodwin, Sonia Purnell, Nicholas Shakespeare, Loyd Grossman and Sara Wheeler, who will be joined by local writers Deborah Lawrenson and Robert Rees.

There will be a special Jazz Supper with Simon Wallace, Sarah Moule and Shireen Francis.

As well as a classical concert by Karen Jones, Anne Beilby and Hugh Webb - Ensemble Frisson.

Poems will be chosen and read by Philip Sidney and others; and the festival will close with the award of the first Sir Philip Sidney Poetry Prize.
