By the Sword is a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) event for women, trans* and gender non-conforming people of any experience level who want to approach the art of swordsmanship.

Started in 2017 as an event for women featuring female instructors, we hope to bring together people who want a place to learn that feels safe, friendly, and devoted to personal excellence.
