"Pattern Seeking, Meaning Making, and Recovering from Trauma"
Mary Dunn, B.S.

Mary Dunn, a school teacher of twelve years, used pattern-seeking and meaning-making as strategies in her recovery from a traumatic injury accident. Although she initially used these tools unconsciously, she began to consciously use patterns as a way to make meaning of what she was experiencing, aiding in her zig-zagging, "fits and starts" recovery from the effects of trauma. Although Mary never returned to the traditional classroom, she still tutors children and adults struggling with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, language barriers, and non-specific learning disabilities. She also coaches clients with productivity, organization, and confidence challenges, as well as those faced with life transitions such as career changes and divorce.
