About this event... 

A networking and CPD event with market leaders in perimeter security. Zaun Group, TSP Projects, MIRA Technology Park, Harper Chalice and other partners are presenting and demonstrating products and expertise in delivering high security solutions from temporary and permanent fencing and barriers for major events such as Commonwealth Games to high security perimeter security and detection solutions for prisons, utilities and other CNI sites.

What will be covered:

  1. Event includes the importance and the roles that CPNI and BRE take in the testing and specification of products and the difference between the two specifications
  2. The importance of specifying the right products that are fit for purpose for the right environments
  3. Deployment of temporary security products and the importance of the deployment being as tested, to protect again potential vehicle attacks in urban environments and crowded places
  4. The National Barrier Asset, why it is there and what it is used for.
  5. Why testing the products is importance and the role the test houses have in ensuring that products are tested to the highest possible standards
  6. The wider perimeter, focusing not only on HVM and physical protection, but also the role technology has to provide a complete solution
  7. A chance to meet and network with the companies behind the perimeter security at UK major events including NATO Summit, London 2012 and Glasgow 2014 to name a few
  8. Industry leaders who provide the whole cradle to grave in perimeter security, from fencing, gates, bollards and barriers to intrusion detection systems, perimeter RADAR detection, anti drone solutions.

Travelling here couldn't be easier, with transport links connecting our campuses to Manchester city centre and beyond. No matter whether you're travelling to Salford by train, bus, car or plane, we have provided routes for you to explore before you set off on your journey.

By car

Please note: if you're travelling to us by car, please park in Irwell Place car park. Spaces in our car parks are limited, so please do plan ahead of your visit. Find out more about parking at our University, including costs and parking locations. 

By train
Salford Crescent station is located on the main University campus between Peel Park and Frederick Road.

Direct services run to and from Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria, as well as Blackpool, Bolton, Buxton, Blackburn, Southport, Preston, Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness. Inter-city services normally use Manchester Piccadilly, which is about ten minutes on the train from Salford Crescent.

By air

Manchester Airport is an international hub, connecting hundreds of countries across the world to the city. The airport is 15 miles from the University, and there are regular, direct train services between the airport and Salford Crescent station, as well as Manchester Piccadilly. The 43A, 45A, 84A and 105 buses link the airport and the city centre.

By bus

You can get on any of the following buses, which will take you to The Crescent (right outside the University front entrance for Peel Park):

8, 12, 26, 31, 32, X34, 36, 37, 38, X61, 67, 100.

For Frederick Road (Allerton, Mary Seacole, Brian Blatchford buildings), any of the above buses with the exception of the 67 and 100 will take you closer to this end of the campus.
