What you need to know

Race Crew - Volunteer roles that need filling

Would you like to be part of the excitement of the day but don't want to run? Why not volunteer to be part of the race crew and help make the event a success? It takes hundreds of people to ensure the event runs smoothly, so becoming a Guernsey Marathon volunteer means you play an active role in the overall success of the event, whilst also allowing you to support your friends, family and charity teams.

We are looking for the following:

Course Marshals - making sure the runners stay safely on the course. We require approximately 80 volunteer marshals to operate the event safely, so please support the event and its good causes.

You don't need any experience to take part in the Guernsey Marathon as a volunteer. You just need between 3-7 hours free on Race Day and be willing to join in the fun. We will provide full training and a detailed brief.

Volunteers should be over the age of 18 on the day of the race or should be part of a recognised group under the supervision of a leader over the age of 18.

We will be looking for Section Leaders & Relay Station Managers. Section leaders will manage an area of the course and the marshals in that area, therefore knowledge of the course is necessary (ensure marshals are in correct locations and have everything they need). Relay Station Managers will manage a team at the busy relay stations (includes help setting up, managing check in of runners, bag drop & tidy of area). Please note for both of these roles, meetings & training will be provided.
