Caar (Children, Adolescents, and Animals Research) is a specialist research group within the Centre for Applied Developmental Psychology in the School of Health in Social Science, University of Edinburgh. We work closely with the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) and other animal welfare organisations.

The fourth in our 2020 series of reflective workshops highlights the importance of developing animal welfare education/cruelty prevention interventions based on sound research evidence. It will illuminate this process as well as demonstrating the significance of carrying out high quality evaluation of interventions.

Our workshops are specifically aimed at practitioners/professionals involved with child and/or animal welfare (animal welfare education, science education, teaching, social work, social care, police, juvenile justice, health). This workshop is particularly geared towards those working in animal welfare organisations/charities or in an educational role. It will take place at the University of Edinburgh from 2 – 4pm.

Please ensure that you contact us if you have booked a ticket but then find you are unable to attend. We are offering these workshops free of charge and there are considerable time and cost-related implications associated with unexpected non-attendance (e.g., organising a room to accommodate the number of places, printing a pack of materials for you, tea/coffee is paid for you). Many thanks.
