What you need to know

Our annual Research Staff Conference is open to all researchers at the University of Glasgow. Join us on Thursday 7th May 2020 for an online programme of talks and workshops, all from the comfort of your own home. Book your place to view the sessions live on the day!

This year's conference will include:

  • Welcome from Professor Chris Pearce, Vice Principal for Research
  • 11-11.30am Dr Zara Gladman's tips for online public engagement
  • 11.30-12pm Steven Vass from the Conversation on writing for the public and engaging public trust
  • 1-1.45pm KEYNOTE: Professor Marcus Munafò speaking about the need for collective action to improve the quality of research, highlighting the work of the UK Reproducibility Network  
  • 2-3pm A Reproducibility Hackathon for all subject areas led by representatives from the PsyTeachR and ReproducibiliTea (Stephanie Allan, Lisa Debruine, Anna Henschel, Rebecca Lai) 
  • 3-4pm How can open practices help you get published? with Elizabeth Moylan (Publisher, Research Integrity and Publishing Ethics at Wiley) 
  • Virtual "stalls" to explore during the breaks
  • The Twitter hashtag for the event is #UofGRSC20 for virtual networking and updates on the day

The conference will take place throughout the day on 7th May 2020 but links to the live sessions will only be circulated to those who have registered here.
