Marvellous Minibeasts at Carymoor!
Explore our nature reserve and enjoy 2 hours of minibeasty antics for all the family: use sweep nets to catch bugs and beasties in the long grass, put your knowledge to the test with fun quizzes and trails, make your own creatures using natural materials and more!
Most activities will be self-led in your family ‘bubble’, with 1 activity led by a member of the Carymoor team.
These sessions are limited to just 4 families on each day. To comply with social distancing guidance, each family will have a staggered start at 9.30am, 10.00am, 10.30am or 11.00am. Book a ticket for the time that suits your family.

The post code for the Carymoor Environmental Centre is BA7 7NR. If using Google Maps please search for Dimmer Landfill Site near Castle Cary, as we share the same main gate.
By road: Coming off the B3153 on to Dimmer Lane, you’ll see a sign for the Dimmer landfill site and Recycling Centre. Follow this road until you come to a farm on a left hand bend and turn immediately right. You’ll see the signs here for the Dimmer site and for Carymoor. At the end of this road you’ll pass the recycling centre on your right and come to some traffic lights at the main gate of the landfill site.
Keep going up over the hill, past a large compost operation on your left, and at the bottom of the hill you’ll see the centre and the car park on the left hand side.
