About this programme
This two-part webinar is for both new and experienced facilitators who want to strengthen and expand their facilitation skills. The sessions will be delivered to demonstrate online facilitation that is engaging, encourages participation, stimulates high quality thinking and provides takeaways to apply immediately.
The first session will consider what makes for effective facilitation and be underpinned by adult learning theories. In exploring the role of the facilitator you will be shown the central role of contracting expectations and be introduced to, and practice, some techniques to create a powerful thinking environment for your participants.
The session will also help you feel prepared to deliver online with a tour of the facilitator’s online toolkit. You will experience, first-hand how to engage your remote audience in a well-paced, interactive session.
Time has been deliberately designed into the programme to allow you the opportunity to facilitate and bring back those experiences into part II of the programme.
This second session will draw on participants facilitation experiences that have taken place since the first session through completion of a structured reflection exercise. We will look at playful experimentation with your face-to-face and online facilitation toolkit. We will also look at asking powerful questions and will end the session with a goal commitment for enhancing your role as a facilitator.
