Elsie’s Golf Day 2021

This year we are planning on it being even bigger and better than last year.  Who can beat last years champion, Steve Chick??

Come and join us for a round of golf, a few drinks and a fantastic Bbq afterwards at The George and Dragon pub.

All money raised is for Reverse Rett. For those who don’t know us very well, our daughter suffers for Rett Syndrome. Elsie required 24/7 care as she is unable to communicate or move without help. Whatever she faces, Elsie always has a smile on her face.  True Warrior. The cure is within touching distance and we really hope that our daughter gets to see it, along with all her Rett sisters and brothers.

What is Rett Syndrome:

Rett syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects brain development, often resulting in severe mental and physical disability.

Almost all cases of Rett syndrome are caused by a mutation (a change in the DNA) in the MECP2 gene, which is found on the X chromosome (one of the sex chromosomes).This gene contains instructions to make a particular protein (MeCP2) that is vital for brain development. The gene abnormality prevents nerve cells in the brain from working properly.  Almost all people with Rett syndrome have no history of the disorder in their family, and the mutation has happened spontaneously.
