Welcome:

Monday to Friday 

You will meet your crew and instructor for the 5-day practical course at 7pm on the Sunday evening before the course starts on Monday morning. The first evening is relaxed, and a chance to get to know each other over a crew meal ashore. The next morning you will prepare to set sail and you will spend the next 5 days exploring the Solent and South Coast. The route you take and the ports you visit will be weather dependent - and part of the course will cover appropriate route planning.

What's Included:

All mooring fees are included in the course fee, as well as the loan of high quality waterproof jacket and trousers. All day time food and 3 evening meals are included on board, allowing you two evenings to enjoy a meal ashore (the first evening, plus one another). You will also receive an RYA Costal Skipper Practical Certificate (Tidal). Please bring a passport photo for your certificate.

Pre-Requisites:

Assumed Knowledge Boat handling to the standard of the Day Skipper practical sail cruising course and navigation to the standard of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster shorebased course

Course content Passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling, safety and emergency situations

Ability after course Skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and night
