COVID-19 - We are restarting the coaching however we need to adapt how we deliver the sessions.  Children will be placed in to groups before the session and we will notify you on Facebook. On arrival your child should go to their assigned group. We cannot change groups or allow children to intermix in their groups.  All children must have masks and this will be checked on registration - masks will not be worn when riding but at all other times.

Our next Go Ride session is here at Lotts Wood, near Amersham. This is a two hour skills coaching session for ages 6+ lead by qualified British Cycling Coaches and split into ability groups. (We sometimes take younger children - depending on their ability and the number of coaches we have available - please email us - coaches@summitmtb.co.uk to discuss). We usually aim to work on 1-2 specific skills in each session and often end the session with fun games or a team relay race. 

Please meet at 9.45am to register and be ready to ride for 10am. The session will finish at 12noon. Please make sure you bring a drink and snack, helmet and gloves. Knee pads are also required due to the flinty nature of the terrain. (These can be simple skateboard pads if you don't have specific MTB pads). Can you also please take a few minutes before coming to check the rider’s helmet fits properly and the bike is in good working order. Riders should be using a mountain bike or a hybrid fitted with gears and treaded tyres. Ideally bikes should have flat (not SPD-type) pedals. Please make sure there is no loose clothing or shoe laces that could be caught on the bike.

There is a car park here in Weedon Hill Woods (now at the meeting point at Lotts Wood) which will be open. If you are dropping children off please do not obstruct the gate, location of the parking is https://what3words.com/data.means.logic.

WE ARE LIMITED IN NUMBERS DUE TO COACH AVAILABILITY SO REGISTER EARLY TO GUARANTEE YOUR PLACE. LATECOMERS (after 10am) MAY BE TURNED AWAY!!

During the session we will be organising groups of parents to help us do some work reinstating the trail network in Lotts Wood. If you are able to help, please wear long trousers, strong shoes and gloves. If you have a spade/rake/loppers/hand saw bring them along (no power tools). Any help would be much appreciated. 

The cost of the session is £5 per Summit member rider and £7 for non Summit member.  This cost is to help cover the cost of leasing the land from the Forestry Commission and to carry out maintenance work. New/potential members should email us before the session to complete a Parental Consent Form.
