26 - 30 July
18:00 - 21:00 every night
From body articulation to counterweights, from dynamo rhythm to mobile statuary, and from improvisation to composition participants will discover how to play their body like a violin, how to create movement in stillness and how to allow inner impulses flow into expression.
In these 5 evening classes designed for professional and semi-professional performers, participants will immerse in Theatre Re's vital approach to Corporeal Mime and its repertoire. Previous training in Corporeal Mime is essential to join. Upon purchasing a ticket you will be asked to provide additional information to confirm you have received previous training in Corporeal Mime.
Guillaume Pigé is an actor, director, mime and magician. Originally from France, he has been living in the UK for the past 13 years. He established Theatre Re in 2011 and has directed each of the company's productions to date. He trained with theatre makers and directors such as Andrew Visnevski, Steven Wasson, Corinne Soum, Daniel Stein and Thomas Leabhart.
Rooted in Etienne Decroux's Corporeal Mime, his practice takes inspiration from science, philosophy, psychology and public health to address global human challenges through moving and visually striking poetic theatre. His work was performed in more than fifteen countries, notably at The Cerventino Festival (Mexico), Hong Kong Arts Festival (China), New Victory Theater (USA), National Taichung Theatre (Taiwan) and London International Mime Festival (UK).
He is an associate artist at The Point in Eastleigh, an associate teacher at RADA and Head of Devising at Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company. He is regularly invited to give workshops throughout the UK and internationally.
To be able to participate in this workshop, all attendees will be asked to provide a Lateral Flow Test result before entering the building. These tests can be done in a local testing centre near you (find the nearest @ https://www.gov.uk/find-covid-19-lateral-flow-test-site) or they can be ordered for free on the gov.uk website.
Please note: Lateral Flow Test result should be taken and submitted a maximum of 3 days before the event start, and sent to email@example.com.
Entry without a Lateral Flow Test result will not be permitted, and your ticket will be invalidated without a refund.
