Wild Tots summer fun: Beetle Bonanza!
Tues 17th August - 10-12pm
Bring your under 5s to Carymoor for two hours of Beetle-themed outdoor play and discovery on our nature reserve; Discover more about the amazing variety of British beetles, explore the woods and look for beetles and bugs, make your own beetle from natural materials, play in our mud kitchen and more!
These sessions are limited to 8 families on each day and are for children age 1.5 - 4 and their parent / carer (max 3 children, babies/pre-walkers free with older siblings).
Booking a ticket is essential to attend this course.

Information
The post code for the Carymoor Environmental Centre is BA7 7NR. If using Google Maps please search for Dimmer Landfill Site near Castle Cary, as we share the same main gate.
By road: Coming off the B3153 on to Dimmer Lane, you’ll see a sign for the Dimmer landfill site and Recycling Centre. Follow this road until you come to a farm on a left hand bend and turn immediately right. You’ll see the signs here for the Dimmer site and for Carymoor. At the end of this road you’ll pass the recycling centre on your right and come to some traffic lights at the main gate of the landfill site.
- Please queue up at the lights until you get a green light. Once the light is green, go through the main gates and turn left before the weighbridge (ignore the wooden building and car park by the weighbridge – this is the landfill site operator’s offices).
- Please note there is a 10mph speed limit on the site. You’ll see a big white sign on the bank with Carymoor on it and then green arrows with ‘Carymoor’ marked on them to direct you.
Keep going up over the hill, past a large compost operation on your left, and at the bottom of the hill you’ll see the centre and the car park on the left hand side.
