We would like to offer our Lincolnshire primary schools the opportunity to attend a training session on ‘Planning for Progression in Writing’, led by leaders of the Local Authority Moderation Team.  This training session is for Year 6 teachers or English/Assessment Leads.

The training will include:

  • How to use your writing outcomes from September to December to inform your planning after the Christmas break
  • Ensuring progression and coverage across the different genres and ‘pupil can’ statements during the Spring and Summer terms, leading to the moderation window in June 2022
  • Examples of planning sequences of learning and resources that show ‘best practice’ and a structured approach to the teaching and assessment of writing, including ideas to reduce teacher workload
  • Development of self and peer assessment strategies for children
