We would like to offer our Lincolnshire primary schools the opportunity to attend a training session on ‘Planning for Progression in Writing’, led by leaders of the Local Authority Moderation Team. This training session is for Year 6 teachers or English/Assessment Leads.

The training will include:

How to use your writing outcomes from September to December to inform your planning after the Christmas break
Ensuring progression and coverage across the different genres and ‘pupil can’ statements during the Spring and Summer terms, leading to the moderation window in June 2022
Examples of planning sequences of learning and resources that show ‘best practice’ and a structured approach to the teaching and assessment of writing, including ideas to reduce teacher workload
Development of self and peer assessment strategies for children
