Formed in 2016, Tantrum set about bringing traditional British heavy metal back to a public force fed on a diet of sanitised radio rock!

Staunch believers in the old gods of metal, Tantrum blend hard hitting machine gun drums and pulsating, heart beating bass with screaming twin lead guitars and acrobatic vocal histrionics, all firing together to create anthemic metal crowd pleasers you'll be singing for days!

Since they have formed they have gigged vastly and have featured at many festivals including Rockmantic Weekender, Wildfire Festival and many more!

The boys were supposed to play The Vault several times but COVID intervened and band reorganisation so the boys were left to search for another great front man. They have found this in Mark in September 2021. The boys released a single on 26th November called Apocalypse and have been eager to gig since. Here is their latest single:-

Way Up is what could be described as a "21st Century Power Trio". Led by Dumfries based guitarist, singer and prolific songwriter, Scott Kerr who describes himself as a "seriously grizzled rock and roller still trying to entertain" Way Up specialise in quirky stripped back original songs which defy pigeon holing. This line up of Way Up formed during lockdown and the band is currently recording a new album at Circa 16 Sound Studios in Dumfries. This brand new material will form the basis of the set at their debut appearance at The Vaults Arts Centre.

Scott Kerr: Guitar and Vocals / John Bremner: Bass / Peter Fergusson: Drums

Information

The Vault Arts Centre is located in the former bank building at 40 Victoria Street, Newton Stewart, between Boots Chemists (to the right) and Avocet (to the left).

Sat Nav can take you on weird and wonderful routes to Newton Stewart. Stay on the main roads and motorways. Follow the A75 from Dumfries following the signs for Stranraer until you reach Newton Stewart is best.

A regular bus service (X75/500) runs through Newton Stewart, with stops on Victoria Street just a short walking distance from the venue.

Parking is available on Victoria Street, however we would recommend parking at Riverside Car Park, on Riverside Road, in order to reduce congestion.  Riverside Car Park is within a short walking distance of the venue.
