    Online training session for ScotPEN Wellcome Engagement Award (SWEA) award holders and Public Engagement Professionals. Matt Mahon and Mary Donaldson, University of Glasgow Research Information Management team, will explain the Wellcome Trust Outputs Management requirements and provide award holders with information to help identify those outputs from their projects which need to be preserved. The team will  help award holders to identify appropriate repositories or other preservation solutions and also signpost local support for award holders outwith the University of Glasgow.

    Matt Mahon:

    Matt Mahon is a Research Information Officer at the University of Glasgow. He specialises in Research Data Management and coordinates training for staff and students on good research data practice and data management planning. He has a particular interest in open research practices and in digital preservation.

    Prior to moving into research data management, Matt worked in archives and special collections for eight years. He was the manager of UCL’s Digital Collections repository and managed a digitisation service for rare books and archive materials. His research background is in digitisation-enhanced archival and cultural research, and in continental philosophy. Matt is an editor of the London Journal of Critical Thought, a diamond open access journal, and has a BSc in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Bristol and an MA in Postcolonial Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London.

    Mary Donaldson:

    Mary Donaldson is a Research Information Officer at the University of Glasgow. She specialises in Research Data Management, working with researchers to establish and develop good data management practices and with other University services to coordinate and streamline processes whenever possible. Mary has developed a particular interest in the intersection between data management, ethics and data protection and is an enthusiastic advocate of open research practices. Mary has been involved with national and international projects to create and disseminate resources for data management support, and has authored several case studies on different aspects of open research.

    Prior to moving into research data management, Mary spent 16 years as a research scientist, working in the fields of molecular genetics and virology. She has a BSc from the Durham University, a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a PCAP from the University of Glasgow.
