A rare chance to visit Carymoor Environmental Trust and find out more about what we do. Our site is not normally open to the public but we would like to welcome you on Saturday 20th August and show you around.
We will be running guided walks, including a butterfly walk, at different points throughout the day. There will be activities, fun and games for families as well as refreshments. We will have volunteers on hand to tell you about our sustainable buildings and what volunteering opportunities are available for individuals, groups, or businesses.
We are an environmental charity based on a capped landfill site and use our position to educate children and adults about sustainable living, wildlife and the environment. Over the past 25 years we have transformed the capped landfill site into a nature reserve with meadows, wetland and woodland.
All the proceeds from today will help us support our charitable aims to provide environmental education to children and adults and support and restore wildlife on our site.

Information
We are an environmental charity and would encourage everyone to walk, cycle or car share to come to this event. We know this isn't hugely practical due to our location but parking will be limited so please do share a lift if you can. If you do walk or cycle, please wear a hi-vis jacket.
Carymoor shares its site and main entrance with the Dimmer Waste Transfer Station.
Please be aware that there are often heavy vehicles moving around the site so a speed limit of 10mph is in operation.
Please stop at the traffic lights at the main entrance, joining the back of any queuing vehicles, and wait for a green light before driving through. A member of staff will be here to direct you and give you a map.
Bear left before the weighbridge and follow the green Carymoor directional signs until you reach the car park on the left, just before our Education Centre.
