Enjoy a day on a working organic farm with your family
Thursday February 16th – Friday February 17th 2023
Magdalen Farm
Our activity days and overnight breaks are a really great opportunity for families with a child or young person (under 20yrs) with a learning difficulty or physical disability. Families will enjoy fun farm and nature based activities whilst socialising and creating friendships with other families.
Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund, families are eligible for 1 day visit and 1 overnight visit every 6 months.
On-site we have 3 all-terrain wheelchairs (bookable in advance) to help those less able to get around the farm along with a dedicated "Changing place" (please bring your own hoist if required).
We do have a small number of bursary assisted places available. Please call 01460 30144 for further information on eligibility.
Activity Information
You will have the opportunity to take part in activities around the farm which could include animal care, gardening, cookery, bring creative and exploring nature.
We will tailor the event to suit the needs of the individuals in
the group so it is important you let us know in advance of any requirements you
and your family may have.
Full details will be sent to you in advance of your visit.
Catering and Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided in our converted farm buildings with 1 room designated per family with shared bathroom facilities.
All meals will be provided – just let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements, we will be only too happy to accommodate.
We hope that families make the most of their stay and take the opportunity to relax and have fun in great company. To help create the atmosphere in the evening, we’ll provide a firepit, kindling, logs and cheese and biscuits. A fridge will be available for you to bring your own drinks and snacks to enjoy around the campfire. Don’t forget your cards or games!
We have a list of shops, restaurants, takeaways and pubs so that you can pop out if wish to. (Children will need to be supervised by a responsible adult).
