This online event is specifically designed to accompany the Production and Stagecraft strand of the Stagecoach Educational Framework (Rahmenlehrplan)  

This highly interactive 3 hour workshop, facilitated by the Education and Learning Team at Stagecoach and will be split into two phases, the first part offering a comprehensive and practical guide to planning and leading your school in delivering an outstanding production.   

Subjects covered to include:

  • The teacher’s role
  • Communication with the Principal and production team members
  • Best practice for planning the production 
  • The educational journey and the impact on the final show
  • Working to a set timescale
  • Delivery - dress rehearsals and on the day

The secod part of the session will be a collaborative exchange of ideas focussing on how we work together to prepare students for a production.

Whilst the workshop will be facilitated in English, breakout groups can accommodate home-language German speakers to ensure in depth of exploration. Stagecoach practitioners throughout the globe are welcome to attend this event.

Guest presenter - John Pritchard - Stagecoach Extended Learning Team

John Pritchard

John is a writer, artist and actor and has been teaching at Stagecoach for 4 years. John’s writing has been performed at 2Fit in London, Paines Plough and The Trestle Theatre. Along with the wonderful members of his Stagecoach Drama Troupe, John has twice won the Lewis Davis prize at the Welwyn Theatre Festival for his plays ‘The Entire History of the World. Kinda’ and ‘Hiroshima’. When not working in theatre or teaching, John can be found performing stand up comedy or painting fine art in his studio.
